Add Redmine domain in Plesk


  1. Install ‘Tools required for building Ruby Gems’ using Plesk installer
  2. Download the latest version of “Redmine” from its official website .
  3. Browse to Domains > example.com > File Manager and Upload .zip file from step 1.
  4. Extract it and copy all the extracted content to httpdocs .
  5. Rename config/database.yml.example to config/database.yml
  6. Browse to Domains > example.com > Databases and create a database.
  7. Browse to Domains > example.com > Ruby .
  8. Set Application Root to httpdocs/ .
  9. Click on database.yml at the left and specify database info from step 5:production: 
    adapter: mysql2 
    database: database_name 
    host: localhost 
    username: database_user 
    password: “database_user_password” 
    encoding: utf8
  10. Select the latest supported version of ruby (for example, for redmine 3.3.3 it is ruby 2.3.3-p222 ). Then click Enable Ruby.
  11. Click Bundle Install .
  12. Click Run Rake Task .
  13. Set Task parameter to generate_secret_token and click Run.
  14. Then set task parameter to RAILS_ENV=production db:migrate and click Run.
  15. Then set task parameter to RAILS_ENV=production REDMINE_LANG=en redmine:load_default_data
  16. Open your website link in browser and log in to Redmine with default login and password (admin/admin)
